Does the world really need another pop-punk band? Probably not, but we started one anyway. We are called FOR I AM… nice to meet you!
As there are not too many female fronted bands around in Belgium, we certainly hope to find our spot in the mostly male-dominated punk rock scene.
A first step towards finding that spot is our first EP called 15 MINUTES LATE.
Singer Hanne and guitarists Stef and Bjorn Bjorn previously played together in a cover band until they figured out that playing Lady Gaga songs is only fun the first fifty times. Right around that time bass player Bo and drummer Bram came into the picture and it all just kinda clicked.
We since got rid of that annoying clicking sound (turns out it was a metronome someone left lying around) and focused on writing our own songs. Since then we have already shared the stage with Chumped, Broadcaster, Astpai, F.O.D., The Priceduifkes and Ducking Punches among others.
We would love to tell you that we created something truly original but hey, it’s 2015 and everything has been done before. We just like to have a good time when we are playing and if people leave our shows with a smile, then we have already achieved our goals.
We tend to describe our music as melodic, danceable sing-along pop punk that is influenced by the catchy melodies of New Found Glory and the edgy voice of Tilt's singer, Cinder Block. Others have said they heard a combination of Heartsounds and Lagwagon when listening to our tunes. You decide for yourself !
